Name: Hayashi, Miyako
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Height: 150 cm
Date of Birth: 5-12-1993
Degree: Business
Year: 1st

Personality:

Miyako has always had a mellow, breezy sort of personality. She smiles easily and is always willing to wave a V sign. She never lets sour events in her life to get her down, and sees them all as character building moments. She refuses to see a cup as half empty, and will defend living a life of optimism. Miyako believes that the little people need to be stood up for, and has always made it a point to defend the weak. If someone is getting picked on, even if she doesn't know them, she will do the best she can to help them out. Miyako hates lying more then anything, and will always make it a point to try and tell the truth, even if that truth hurts herself or someone else. She has learned that hiding things only makes them worse in the end, so why even bother. Miyako is a very informal girl, tacking on -chan and -kuns onto people she only just met, and has no issue with giving out her first name to people. She hates the idea what just to just meet people, you have to take into account social rules. Miyako takes issues very seriously, and likes to have conversations on politics and social justice issues. Miyako wishes that everyone cared about issues in the way that she does, and will often try to drag conversations out about them in order for people to realize their importance in everyday life.

Miyako doesn't like hanging around weakwilled people. If you only have one life to live, why waste it by doing nothing. She expects people to work hard to accomplish what they want in life. Miyako never stops working, and has always hung around people that put a lot of effort into what they do. She has a habit of taking over projects and instinctively wanting to be the leader. She also has issues with people who don't act as they feel. She has always felt that if you will live a happier and healthier life if you say what you need to say. Miyako can tell when people aren't being honest, but usually lacks the tact to keep quiet about it. Miyako has never been the type to keep quiet about her feelings, and if she feels some one is acting out of line, you can bet she will be the first to call them out. While her behavior is acceptable in Yoyogi Park, it hasn't been a big hit in most other places, so in her neighborhood adults usually avoid her. Miyako doesn't have a problem with being alone, and appreciates silence. Being around too many people outside of shows is draining on her if it goes on too long, so she will often excuse herself if a crowd becomes too big and is filled with unfamiliar faces. She prefers having one on one conversations with people. Miyako likes to start conversations with any one she can, and loves to find out about peoples lives in order to broaden her horizons. She takes being a worldly person very seriously.

Bio: Miyako grew up as an only child in a family where her mother was the main bread winner while her father stayed at home and watched the house. Her mother worked as a lawyer, while her father had previously been a chef, but decided to stay at home in order to watch after Miyako when she was first born so her mother could continue to attend work. He decided not to return when they realized she was making more then enough at that time to support them. Thus, Miyako grew up in a family where the woman was in charge of the household and making the money for the family. Miyako went into the world thinking it was obvious that women were equal to men. However, as she grew up, began to attend school, watch dramas, and generally live an everyday life, she found this idea wasn't so in their modern Japan. Despite steps to women empowerment in Japan, she found that things were not even close to acceptable. She grew sick of the stereotype that women must be docile and homely in order to be accept and wanted. Miyako was unsure on what she could do about this issue that had a huge hold over her heart. While she was in middle school, she tried to make sure her school was a place where the girls and boys could be seen equally. Thus, she began cracking down on the boys bullying the girls, but in turn, she herself was often a target of the boys bullying. Despite this, she kept a straight face and learned if she just tuned everything out and kept a strong face, the boys, after a few months, would get bored of scribbling on her desk and hiding her shoes and gym clothing. Besides, she had the support of most of the female population in her school behind her, as well as a quite a few boys who thought the behavior of the others were childish and crude. Eventually, if you were known to be bullying Miyako, you would be looked down upon.

It was towards the end middle school that she discovered J-Rap. Her best male friend had really been into a group named, "KING GIDDRA," and showed her a few of their albums. It took a few listens, mostly because it wasn't like anything she had heard before, but in time she fell in love with their sound and style. Miyako bought every album she could find, and was filled with regret when she heard the group had broken up. She decided to get more in date with the current J-Rap scene by finding out the hottest artists and most popular clothing lines. By then, she was hooked. Being young, she had no problem spending tons of money to obtain a certain look, dying her hair and getting light tans at salons. During this time she spent more time in Yoyogi Park getting to know DJs and break dancers. Miyako wasn't the super brash type, but rather a mellow and calming type. She was always open to making friends and would strike up random conversations with people she had an interest in. Miyako made friends easily at Yoyogi park, and through her new found friends, she developed an interest in trying to rap. Even though writing lyrics was difficult for her, she found that she had a very breezy flow. Homewise, her mother didn't really find issue with her new hobbies as long as she was safe, but her father found it a little more troubling. However, if she was having fun and doing something she really loved, he couldn't say no to her begging.

Miyako was unsatisfied with the current J-Rap scene, because she felt it was superficial. She wanted to take it back to its roots and talk about issues. She began to write raps about female empowerment, following the footsteps of the female j-rapper, "Hime". Miyako felt like this was how she could contribute to changing society. After high school, she decided to take a year off from attending college in order to continue to make contacts and preform where ever she could in order to save money. Her mother, though supportive, wouldn't allow her to continue living in their house, feeling her daughter need to live her own life, so she was forced to find a new place to live. Even though she didn't have a steady income, she was able to support herself in a tiny apartment with the money she had been saving and her performances. Miyako began to foster a dream to open up her own record label where she could help female rappers such as herself to break into the industry. Miyako had spent time getting herself a name in the scene, and she felt she wanted to give back. In order to do this, she was going to need to learn how to run her own business. She began to plan to go to College. She spent the next few months saving the money from shows to pay for tuition, with a little help from her parents, who were happy to hear she was planning to attend college at last.
